So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith. Galatians 3:26 NIV
How often do you measure your value by your daily output?
We live in a culture obsessed with performance—our job titles, net worth, academic credentials, and family success. And when we mess up, we swing to the opposite extreme, letting past failures, heartbreaks, or traumas define who we are.
We try to bring that same performance-based mindset to God, striving to earn His approval. But Galatians 3:15–29 completely flips the script.
The Law was given to show us God’s standards and reveal our inability to be perfect on our own. It was never meant to save us. God’s promise to us was sealed through Christ—not earned through our hustle. Obedience isn’t a ladder to climb to get God to love you; it’s the natural overflow of living out of gratitude because He already does.
Galatians 3:26 declares: So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith.
It’s time to demote the labels. Your identity isn’t tied to your resume, nor is it shackled to your past mistakes. You are not defined by your performance. In Christ, you are:
- A child of God with full family privileges.
- An heir to the promise.
- Fully justified and clothed in Christ’s righteousness.
Salvation and spiritual heirship come through faith in the truth: Jesus Christ alone saves. Once we believe in faith, we receive the promise and are clothed (surrounded) in Jesus Christ. Set down the weight of having to prove yourself. Take a breath, step out of the hustle, and simply rest in Him.
Your Action Step This Week
Stop striving to earn what has already been freely given. Ask yourself: Am I serving God to win His approval, or out of gratitude because I’m already His child?
